KUALA LUMPUR: Standard Chartered Malaysia (StanChart) has appointed Samuel Ding as Head of Transaction Banking, the bank said in a statement today.

The statement said Ding, a financial services professional with close to 20 years of experience, started his banking career with StanChart in 2005.

Prior to re-joining the bank, Ding held various senior positions with CIMB and BNP Paribas Malaysia.

StanChart managing director and chief executive officer Abrar A. Anwar said Ding's appointment comes at a time of great opportunity when the bank is at the forefront of innovating and transforming its product propositions.

Meanwhile, Ding said he is looking forward to leading and being part of an extraordinary international bank with a rich history of more than 160 years.

"With our broad geographical footprint in 59 markets and our deep local-market knowledge, we are well-positioned to support our clients’ banking needs across the world by providing access to digital-enabled solutions and data to power decisions and drive profitability,” Ding said. - Bernama

  • ECB president Christine Lagarde’s new mantra of gradualism, optionality and flexibility seems to have missed out the action bit. Her oft-repeated desire to raise rates initially by just 25 basis points at the July 21 governing council meeting is starting to look like a potential policy error. By being so prescriptive, the central bank is, in fact, reducing its flexibility.前来围观
